Monday to Friday within core hours

3 days in a DFS Group location and 2 days at home


Our Infrastructure team plays a crucial role in delivering expert third-line support for IT infrastructure issues across the DFS Group. In addition, the team drives innovation by contributing to the design and architecture of new IT services and products.

We’re a collaborative team made up of Platform and Cloud Engineers, Infrastructure Specialists, Senior Engineers, and Field Engineers.

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of deploying and troubleshooting systems while leading the implementation of new cloud initiatives aligned with our strategic goals. You’ll work closely with a range of stakeholders and teams to ensure our cloud platforms are robust, efficient, and tailored to the evolving needs of our business.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy scalable, cloud-based platforms to support business needs.

  • Maintain and enhance cloud infrastructure in line with industry best practices, company policies, and target operating models.

  • Ensure integration of robust security and compliance controls across all platforms.

  • Continuously review and optimise platforms for top-tier performance and cost efficiency.

  • Conduct regular assessments to identify and address infrastructure vulnerabilities and deployment challenges.

  • Evaluate and refine deployment and maintenance processes, working closely with key stakeholders to implement improvements.

  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and assess their potential to deliver tangible business value.

  • Create and manage automation scripts to streamline processes and reduce manual effort.

  • Collaborate with development, data, and security teams to understand and meet their platform requirements.

  • Lead incident resolution efforts, including root cause analysis, fixes, documentation, and preventative solutions.

  • Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex technical issues.

  • Monitor and manage platform performance, ensuring high standards of reliability and security.

  • Document system configurations, workflows, and operational procedures for cross-team visibility and ease of use.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide out-of-hours support as needed.

What You'll Bring:

 Excellent Communication Skills
 You’ll be the bridge between development teams, operations, and leadership—translating technical needs into clear, actionable outcomes.

Strong Technical Expertise

  • Proven experience with core infrastructure components.

  • Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tools and best practices.

  • Skilled in using Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.

  • Practical experience managing platforms in one or more major cloud environments:

    • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

    • Amazon Web Services (AWS)

    • Microsoft Azure

Relationship Management
 You'll build trusted relationships with internal customers including:

  • Developers

  • Operational Teams

  • Leadership Teams
     Understanding their needs is key to delivering scalable, reliable platform solutions.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Two or more years experience in designing, developing and implementing cloud solutions

  • Cloud certifications in one or more of the following areas:

    • Engineering

    • Security

    • Architecture

  • Self starter can work under own initiative

  • There is a requirement for this role to form part of an On Call rota out of hours and weekends
