Your new role
We’re looking for a talented Copywriter to create engaging content that helps customers understand our products and encourages them to shop with us at DFS. You’ll write product descriptions for our eCommerce site, that will support our sales process and in-store sales teams, and create inspiring articles that enhance our editorial presence and SEO performance.
This is a hybrid opportunity, with 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.

What you'll be doing
- Craft Compelling Product Descriptions: Write inspiring, informative, and engaging product descriptions across our full range, including sofas, beds, mattresses, dining sets, and home accessories, that captivate our customers.
- Support Brand Partnerships: Collaborate on new brand partnership launches by understanding partner brands and showcasing them effectively within the product copy on our website.
- Collaborate with Retail Teams: Work closely with retail colleagues to understand how products are sold in-store and enhance online copy to improve digital sales performance.
- Develop Editorial Content: Partner with the Content Manager and Marketing Team to create an editorial plan that offers customers style inspiration and helpful advice.
- Research and Write Engaging Articles: Produce inspirational content that aligns with our commercial objectives, covering everything from new product launches to the latest interior design trends.
- Enhance Customer Experience: Liaise with Customer Services, Service, and Quality teams to address customer pain points and refine website content to improve customer satisfaction.
- Support UX and Development: Ensure website functionality uses the right tone and language to guide customers smoothly through their journey.
- Maintain Brand Consistency: Collaborate with creative agencies and the Marketing Team to ensure brand guidelines and tone of voice are consistently upheld and enhanced across all content.
The role is for you if...
- Content Management Proficiency: Familiarity with content management systems, Google Suite, and PIM systems.
- Digital Copywriting Skills: Experience writing impactful short and long-form content for transactional websites.
- Customer-Centric Focus: Ability to effectively convey product features and benefits that drive sales while adhering to brand voice.
- Strong Organisational Skills: Excellent attention to detail and communication, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Language Mastery: Proficient in spelling and grammar, with a knack for reviewing and providing feedback on copy.
- Self-Starter: Motivated and capable of creating clear briefs for designers and developers.
- SEO Knowledge: Essential understanding of SEO best practices, keyword research, and current trends.
- UX and Editorial Insight: Experience in UX and offline editorial is a plus.
- Industry Experience: Background in furniture or home décor copywriting is advantageous.
- Team Player: Eager to collaborate and contribute ideas
