Your new role
We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused HGV Shunter Driver to support the efficient movement of vehicles on-site. You will work closely with the warehouse and transport teams to ensure timely positioning of trailers for loading, unloading, and dispatch.
Key responsibilities include safe vehicle shunting, conducting daily vehicle checks, complying with UK driving laws and tachograph regulations, and covering Class 1 deliveries when required. Flexibility with working hours is essential, along with a professional attitude and a commitment to health and safety standards.
Monday - Thursday 6am - 3pm, Friday 6am - 11am
What you'll be doing
Responsibilities:
- Safe and professional movement of HGV vehicles on site, whilst working in a timely manner in order to facilitate production requirements
- Comply with all driving laws as defined by the government and all company policies, procedures and directives
- Fully understand and adhere to the rules and regulations of driving hours, tachograph and the road transport directive
- Able to correctly operate a tachograph with a full understanding of UK Transport Law
- Must be flexible with start and finish times dependant on the business needs
- Required to cover HGV Class 1 deliveries in order to maintain business continuity when required
- Work with the warehouse and transport teams to ensure that equipment is presented for loading, unloading and parked for onward delivery in a safe and timely manner

- Carry out daily inspections of allocated vehicle and equipment, informing the line manager of any defects and/or damage immediately
- Ensure that any damages to your vehicle or other property is reported your manager as soon as possible, following the correct reporting processes
- Uphold good standards of personal presentation every day
- Professional conduct at all times if/when representing the Company to all personnel
- Ensure that the Company’s Health & Safety Policies are rigorously applied.
- Ensure yard organisation is optimised ensuring vehicles are accessible in order to achieve prearranged delivery times
The role is for you if...
- You hold an HGV class 1 licence
- Have 2 years driving experience (preferred)
