Your new role
Reporting to the People Director, the Head of HR will have full accountability for the delivery of a comprehensive people strategy for the business area(s) and/or Brand(s) which it is responsible for partnering. As a key member of the Operational Leadership Team, they will partner the most senior member of the leadership team which they work within (often a member of our Group Leadership Team), and may partner a number of their direct reports, dependant on the structure of the team. The Head of HR will play a key part in the operational development and commercial direction of the business, and ensure that the HR Business Partnering Team which they lead are working in step with the business area(s) and/or Brand
What you'll be doing
- Full accountability for the design and delivery of the people strategy, ensuring alignment of the business objectives with the Group People Plan
- Partnering a member of our GLT, the Head of HR will act as a mentor and advisor to the wider Group Operations Leadership Team
- Ensure effective delivery of all People projects and initiatives, consistently bringing to life the culture and values across the organisation
- As a member of the Group People Leadership Team, be the voice of the brand and/or business area you support, on the needs of the teams and be the voice to the brand and/or business area, informing the Group People Plan and priorities
- Work closely with the Group People Team Centres of Excellence to ensure a holistic approach and, where practical and beneficial, create alignment and share expertise and best practice
- Form robust relationships with leadership teams and key stakeholders, both internally and externally, in order to influence and shape decision making and to deliver consistently high standards across the Group
- Drive the Employee Value Proposition the organisation
- In partnership with the the Group People Team, lead the performance, talent and inclusion plans
- Work in partnership with the Reward team to develop and deliver reward and recognition plans that attract and retain the best people for the business
- Minimise business risk by driving succession plans and talent pipelines across the wider organisation
- Drive personal and leadership accountability using simple and transparent performance management tools
- Ensure all colleagues have the skills, knowledge and capability to perform their roles to the required standards
- Ensure all operational and transactional people processes are consistently delivered to the required standards and timescales
- Drive continuous improvement of all HR systems, processes and procedures
- Ensure Group Operations are legally compliant within employment legislation
The role is for you if...
- A relevant professional qualification or postgraduate degree
- Proven experience of partnering at all levels, including C Suite.
- Proven HR generalist senior leader with an in-depth understanding of all HR disciplines
- Experience in a fast-moving operational environment, delivering growth and leading change
- Exceptional people leader with proven track record of raising capabilities
- High intellectual capability and personal gravitas which instils confidence
- Self aware with a diplomatic approach and sensitivity to organisational culture
- Tenacious & resilient with a determination to success
- Highly customer focused with the ability to drive this behaviour across
- Excellent coaching skills with the ability to listen, question and support individuals and teams to lead change
- Works collaboratively to achieve shared goals
- Ability to deliver effective and practical solutions to meet operational challenges
- Strong commercial awareness with clear understanding of how to make a difference to the business
- An excellent communicator who can engage others in the people strategy and be an ambassador for the Group
