Hybrid role role with 3 days based in our Doncaster Head office, 2 days working from home -
Monday - Friday Hours are 9am to 5.30pm
We’re looking for a detail driven and commercially minded Merchandiser to join our dynamic Home team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of stock management, ensuring timely and cost effective product deliveries that hit our sales, launch, and availability targets across all channels. You’ll support the Senior Merchandiser in driving the category strategy managing everything from intake and pricing to margin and markdowns.
You'll play a key role in placing purchase orders both domestically and internationally, working closely with our buyers to deliver a cohesive, customer focused range. With strong analytical skills, you’ll provide critical data to inform buying decisions and weekly trading reports, while also managing product placement in store to maximise sales performance.
What you'll be doing
Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Accountable for aspects of stock management, ensuring stock delivered on time to achieve sales, launch targets and customer availability in a cost-effective way.
Support Senior Merchandising in managing the home category critical path to ensure optimum delivery of stock
Accountable for delivering the category plan in line with the strategy (Sales, Total Stock, Intake, Commitment, Customer Availability, Pricing, Markdown, Margin, Number of Skus for all Channels).
Support Senior Merchandiser with providing data to inform better buying decisions including regular reporting on key KPI’s as part of commercial teams weekly reporting.
Placing of purchase orders with supply base both domestically and from the Far East
Working in conjunction with the buyers to deliver a commercial and cohesive range in line with plan.
Support Senior merchandiser working with supply base to manage both domestic and far east to manage inbound supply into DFS distribution centres
Responsible for clear communication of store display related information and stakeholder management across the business
Responsible for aspects of in store product placement & stock management, ensuring appropriate ranging in store to deliver desired KPI’s enhancing £ margin per bay per store

Capabilities required:
In depth knowledge of the processes and systems required to support the setting and monitoring of forecasts, stock plans and budgets for sales and profit
Strong interpersonal skills and a good team player with the ability to communicate and work cross functionally at all levels of the business.
Strong numerical and analytical skills to optimise trading performance.
Excellent influencing skills.

Experience / Qualifications:
• Experience in global direct sourcing & product development within retail: Furniture industry experience beneficial
• Degree (optional)
