About the role:

As a Production Operative in our Kitting team at our Lincoln House Woodmill, you'll be a key part of the manufacturing process, ensuring our production teams have everything they need to build the quality sofa frames that form the foundation of every DFS sofa.

You'll accurately pick and prepare timber, CNC-machined components, fixings and other materials, creating complete kits that are delivered to the right production area at the right time. By keeping materials organised and readily available, you'll help production run efficiently, minimise delays and maintain the high standards of quality we're known for.

Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you'll collaborate closely with colleagues across the Woodmill, maintain accurate stock levels, and ensure your work area remains safe, clean and organised. With a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach, you'll play an important role in helping us create furniture that our customers will enjoy for years to come.

What you'll be doing:

  • Picking materials and components from stock using works orders.

  • Preparing complete kits ready for production.

  • Delivering materials safely and efficiently to manufacturing teams.

  • Checking parts for accuracy and quality before they reach production.

  • Maintaining accurate stock levels and reporting shortages.

  • Keeping work areas clean, tidy and organised.

  • Working closely with colleagues across the factory to ensure production runs smoothly.

  • Following all health and safety procedures.

This role is for you if :

  • Has excellent attention to detail and solid numeracy skills 

  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Can work accurately and efficiently.

  • Is physically fit and comfortable with manual handling throughout the shift.

  • Works well as part of a team.

  • Has a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

  • Can follow instructions and work to production deadlines.

  • Previous warehouse, stores or manufacturing experience is helpful but not essential.
