What you'll be doing
- Production Scheduling: Develop, manage, and maintain production schedules to ensure timely completion of orders, aligning production plans with customer requirements.
- Material Requirements Planning: Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely ordering and availability of materials to meet production schedules.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods, and work-in-progress items, adjusting production plans as needed to maintain optimal stock levels. You will also be responsible for our half yearly site stock take.
- Order Management: Review and process customer orders, ensuring that production schedules are aligned with delivery deadlines and customer expectations.
- Data Analysis: Analyse production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in the production process.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the production teams, procurement, and logistics teams to resolve any issues that may affect production timelines, such as material shortages.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in or lead initiatives aimed at improving production efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing overall product quality.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on production status, inventory levels, and other key metrics to management.
- Compliance: Ensure that all production activities adhere to company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Management Cover : During periods of annual leave support Team Leader with operation responsibilities of site.
The role is for you if...
- You have experience in production planning, preferably within the manufacturing or upholstery industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., MRP systems), Microsoft Office Suite/ Google suite.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving production issues.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and organisational skills to manage production schedules and inventory requirements.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Additional Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Experience in commodity purchasing and vendor management.
- Understanding of upholstery materials and production techniques.
