Senior Production Planner

Your new role

As a Senior Production Planner at our Sewing Hub , you will be a key driver in ensuring the seamless execution of our production processes. Your responsibility is to develop, implement, and oversee production plans and schedules that align with customer demands and production capacity. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end flow of materials ensuring that all necessary commodities and components are available to support production.
Your duties extend beyond the walls of our facility, requiring close coordination with two other factories within our network. This collaboration is crucial to maintaining a consistent, reliable, and efficient service across all locations. You will play a pivotal role in synchronising production schedules, optimising resource allocation, and sharing best practices to enhance overall operational efficiency.
 
Working hours - Monday - Thursday 08:30 - 17:00, Friday 8:30 - 14:00 

What you'll be doing

  • Production Scheduling: Develop, manage, and maintain production schedules to ensure timely completion of orders, aligning production plans with customer requirements.
  • Material Requirements Planning: Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely ordering and availability of materials to meet production schedules.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, finished goods, and work-in-progress items, adjusting production plans as needed to maintain optimal stock levels. You will also be responsible for our half yearly site stock take.
  • Order Management: Review and process customer orders, ensuring that production schedules are aligned with delivery deadlines and customer expectations.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in the production process.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the production teams, procurement, and logistics teams to resolve any issues that may affect production timelines, such as material shortages.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in or lead initiatives aimed at improving production efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing overall product quality.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on production status, inventory levels, and other key metrics to management.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all production activities adhere to company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  •  Management Cover : During periods of annual leave support Team Leader with operation responsibilities of site.

The role is for you if...

  • You have experience in production planning, preferably within the manufacturing or upholstery industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., MRP systems), Microsoft Office Suite/ Google suite.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving production issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and organisational skills to manage production schedules and inventory requirements.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Additional Desirable Skills:
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience in commodity purchasing and vendor management.
  • Understanding of upholstery materials and production techniques.
