Your new role
DFS group operates in manufacturing, retail, and regulated environments, we pride ourselves on balancing commercial success with robust governance. And that’s where you come in.
We’re looking for an Internal Audit Manager who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative, and forward-thinking environment. This is a unique opportunity to join a small in-house team, working closely with an outsourced provider, to deliver assurance in key risk areas across our business.
What you'll be doing
As our Internal Audit Manager, you’ll play a critical role in delivering assurance, driving accountability, and promoting best practices across the organisation. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and delivering audits in key risk areas, either directly or by managing our co-sourced partner.
- Scoping, delivering, and reporting on audits, as well as negotiating and agreeing on actions with senior management.
- Holding the business accountable by tracking agreed actions to ensure timely and effective resolution - or escalating issues where necessary.
- Collaborating with our co-source provider to define audit objectives, approaches, and scopes, using a flexible delivery model to ensure success.
- Developing and maintaining an effective audit tracker, serving as the single source of truth for management actions.
- This is a hybrid role, with plenty of variety and exposure to different parts of the business. Some UK travel will be required, but we expect this to be less than 20%.
The role is for you if...
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a mix of technical expertise, relationship management skills, and a collaborative approach. We’re looking for someone who has:
- Core internal audit skills, with experience in both financial and non-financial audits.
- A strong understanding of risk, root cause analysis, and testing methodologies.
- Experience of working in a matrix organisation, with the ability to flex approaches to ensure delivery.
- Proven expertise in risk-based auditing, with a relentless focus on root causes and continuous improvement.
- Professional qualifications such as CIIA, or significant experience in an internal audit function.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Technology and Cybersecurity, Manufacturing, or Financial Control.
- We’re particularly interested in candidates who can bring a partnership-driven approach, combining technical skill with pragmatic, commercially-minded solutions. Strong project management and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to write clear, concise audit reports that focus on key issues and practical recommendations.
