Payroll & HR System Project Lead

Your new role

Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the Payroll & HR Project Lead will be responsible for scoping and delivering a key strategic project to introduce consistent and efficient processes and ways of working across the Group.  In addition the role will take responsibility for Coordination of the Finance Transformation Programme to ensure governance forums are managed effectively.

Working with other leaders within the People Team and the wider Finance function to scope, communicate and implement key changes to develop and deliver this strategic project. With demonstrable experience in delivering change within Payroll & HR systems and processes, you will have the necessary communication skills to build relationships with leaders across the group in adopting new and improved ways of working.

This vacancy is for a Fixed Term Contract for 12 months

What you'll be doing

  • Finance project leadership, tactical management and delivery of the Payroll & HR project with clear reporting to leadership of project status, issues and ownership of solutions.
  • Driving the project to completion by leveraging resources in the broader team.
  • Responsibility for the review, mapping, streamlining and automation of payroll systems & processes to improve efficiency, productivity and customer service. Clearly document the 'As Is' of payroll processes and the 'To Be' with financial controls fully documented and a route map to deliver.
  • Ensuring all process, policy and knowledge documents, including training and communications, are created and maintained.
  • Leading and developing team members in finance transformation thinking, including digital capability.
  • Escalating all issues and risks raised to the Director of Finance Transformation & Shared Services and ensure effective resolution.
  • Support negotiations with external parties and business case development for this project.
  • End to end project implementation & co-ordination of required activities (build/configuration, testing, parallel running, data migration, communication & training).
  • Embed new processes, people & technologies into the team as needed.
