Your new role
We’re looking for a Building Support Technician to join our Facilities team based at our Group Support Centre in Doncaster. You’ll be responsible for the delivery of all planned and reactive maintenance on site, either directly or through managing external contractors. Acting as the first point of contact for any site issues, you’ll play a key role in keeping our workplace safe, compliant and well maintained.
What you'll be doing
- Managing and carrying out day-to-day planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the site
- Supporting and liaising with contractors and engineers to ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Acting as the Person in Charge (PIC) on site, making sure health and safety policies and procedures are followed
- Approving risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), and issuing permits to work where necessary
- Conducting regular walk rounds to identify and report maintenance requirements
- Carrying out a range of maintenance checks, including fire alarm tests, tap temperature checks, and emergency lighting testing
- Supporting the Facilities Support Advisor with site budget management and project delivery
- Providing daily support to the housekeeping team and assisting with general fabric repairs and site upkeep
The role is for you if...
- You have strong experience in building maintenance or a multi-skilled facilities role
- You take a proactive, hands-on approach to solving problems on site
- You have a keen eye for detail and take pride in maintaining a safe and efficient workplace
- You’re flexible, reliable and confident working independently or as part of a team
- You’re comfortable communicating with people at all levels and building strong working relationships
- You hold relevant certifications such as IPAF, and ideally have an IOSH qualification
- You’re confident delivering minor works such as painting and decorating
- You enjoy working in a varied role where no two days are the same
